The CHD Awareness Quilt Project relies soley on donations of time, money, and materials.
There are many ways in which you can participate in spreading CHD awareness with The Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Quilt Project. Volunteering is a rewarding experience.
Donate: Tax deductible donations can be made to The Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Quilt Project, Inc.
Donations of fabric, time, and money are all greatly appreciated.
Sewing: If you can sew, this is a great opportunity to share your talent. We receive an average of one block request per day. Some requests are very personalized and others are quite simple. If you would be interested in sewing a block or two, please contact Gabrielle Schoeffield.
Hosting: The CHD Awareness Quilts are made to promote awareness of Congenital Heart Defects. The quilts are available to display at Congenital Heart Defect related events. If you are interested in hosting a quilt at your event, please see our Hosting Policies and online request form.
Liaision: This can require as little or as much time as you wish. We welcome volunteers to set up brochures and block dedication forms in their local Children's hospital and/or doctors office. If you are interested in this area, please check with the hospital, doctor, or heart center for permission. Some hospitals have strict guidelines as to what can be displayed. If block request forms are left with a hospital or doctors office, you can be a liaision to CHD families who do not have internet access and fill out the online request form for them. Please contact

Heart Family Tree: Individuals can help sponsor a quilt at our annual quilt show by purchasing one or more hearts to be hung on the CHD Family Tree.
For your generous donation of $40.00 plus shipping and handling, you will receive a handcrafted quilted heart ornament inscribed with the name of your choice. In addition, a duplicate will be added to the Heart Family Tree in your name (or in the name of someone you choose to honor).
This is a new heart ornament for our 4th annual show.
